I’m Terry Lawrence, a Creative Director and Brand Strategist with more than 20 years experience across many industries, including: consumer, B2B, and health and life sciences. Most recently, I was the founder and principal of +Intention, a strategic branding and design studio comprising designers, copywriters, project managers, and account members, which I built and ran for nearly six years. Prior to that, I worked at a number of advertising agencies and design studios in Chicago. I combine both my classically trained, high-design background and my process-driven, strategic approach to solving brand challenges.

Among my most noted accomplishments in driving organic growth and developing brand strategies are: restructuring the service offerings and product brands for Hospira’s medication management system; reimagining and designing the brand architecture for Astellas’s transplant business; developing the market-shaping, leadership strategy for Baxalta’s (now Takeda) Primary Immunodeficiency (PI) products and Immunology (Ig) franchise; and developing the market-shaping, leadership strategy for Takeda’s Gastroenterology (GI) franchise which, among other things, produced a first-of-its-kind industry workstream and annual summit comprising physicians, nurses, advocacy groups, and payors.

Throughout my career, my work has been recognized more than 40 times by numerous design organizations and design publications, including the Best in Show HOW International Design Award, American Center for Design 100 Show, and numerous PRINT Magazine Awards. I’ve been professionally affiliated with the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and have juried various design and advertising award competitions. I’m also a member of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and serve on the Healthcare Council.
